The North East Combined Authority was formed on 7 May 2024. We are led by an Elected Mayor and Cabinet and cover the seven local authority areas of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
Our purpose is to champion the full potential of our region. Collaborating with our partners and local authorities, we’ll create a better way of life by connecting communities, giving people the skills to succeed, and improving wellbeing for all, so that the North East is recognised as an outstanding place to live, work, visit and invest.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Manager to join the Skills, Economic Inclusion and Public Service Reform directorate. The successful candidate will effectively develop and manage one or more Combined Authority strategic inclusive economic programmes, in order to facilitate the delivery of the Corporate Plan and inclusive economy ambitions. The role will specifically develop/manage programmes to support people into work and remain in work.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You should have demonstrable experience and understanding of programme management (including implementing and overseeing processes which ensure effective risk, issue, financial and performance management, benefits realisation and governance) and a good understanding of the regional labour market.
