About the Role
Leeds City College is recruiting 5 Learning Support Assistants to support our PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disability) and Complex Needs department.
This role is part-time and reduced year. We have a range of working hours available:
* 18 hours over 3 days per week, 39 weeks per year (£10,011 per annum)
* 30 hours over 5 days per week, 39 weeks per year (£16,686 per annum)
The Vine is a department with over 50 Learners with Complex needs and behaviours that can challenge. We deliver a varied Curriculum to meet each of our learners' individual needs in line with their EHCP's. Our highly skilled team takes pride in developing our learners' personal and preparation for adulthood skills to prepare them for their future life. We have strong emphasis on working as a team, offering mutual support and flexibility while striving for the highest standards for our learners. Our ultimate goal is to enable our learners to become as independent as possible and lead a happy fulfilled life.
What You Will Do
* Support and contribute to the delivery of our courses in Independent Living skills with the focus on the key aspects of The Preparation for Adulthood framework.
* Support students in line with the objectives of the curriculum and their EHCP outcomes
* Create resources to engage and develop learners
* Support principles and practical skills to help our learners along their journey into Adulthood
* Assess the progress the learners make and provide feedback in a way which helps them develop their abilities and understanding
* Work as part of a team to create a nurturing, positive environment for the learners
About You
* We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who are committed to supporting our learners in their educational journey.
* Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
* Passion for supporting individuals with complex needs and a desire to help them achieve their goals.
