OPERATIONS MANAGER We’re excited to be partnering with a nationally recognised engineering organisation known for its exceptional service and reliability. As they continue to grow, they’re looking for a proactive Operations Manager to drive efficiency and excellence within their Service & Maintenance division. This office-based role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a skilled team, optimise operations and make a real impact on the company’s continued success. Ideal candidates will have a technical background (preferably mechanical) and experience managing operational teams in service-led environments such as facilities management, gas servicing, commercial heating or mechanical maintenance services. What’s on offer: Salary - £60k - £70k (Negotiable DOE) Car Allowance - £7k per annum Company Pension Scheme Private Healthcare scheme Death in Service Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence: Optimise resource allocation to maximise efficiency and minimise costs. Ensure projects are delivered on budget, meeting quoted costs and margins. Oversee SMA renewals, strengthen account management, and drive operational improvements. Lead ISO9001 compliance and leverage digital tools to enhance performance. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and create a competitive edge. Financial Leadership: Oversee daily operational budgets, ensuring sustained profitability. Partner with Finance to analyse and enhance financial reporting and performance. Team Leadership & Development: Inspire, mentor, and develop the Service Delivery team, including both office-based staff and field engineers. Drive high performance through coaching, strategic recruitment, and succession planning. Foster a positive, growth-focused culture where teams feel empowered and valued. Ensure effective HR management, from onboarding and training to compliance with employment regulations. Key Skills & Attributes: Proven experience in operations management (e.g., Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager). Background in service-led environments such as facilities management, gas servicing, commercial heating or mechanical maintenance services. Technically adept, with the ability to engage effectively in mechanical engineering environments. Strong track record of delivering results under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Expertise in resource optimisation, driving efficiencies, and cost control. Financially savvy, with hands-on experience in budget management and profitability. Inspiring leader with exceptional team-building, coaching, and mentoring skills. A decisive problem-solver, able to think strategically and act confidently. Customer-focused, with a proactive and solutions-driven approach. Outstanding communication, organization, and time management abilities.
