At Leader Education, we are seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to support children in KS1 to KS4 within a SEND school near Corbridge, Northumberland who cater for children aged 3 to 19 years old.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have had previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential. This role is only suitable for candidates who drive. This is a great opportunity to develop a deeper understanding about working with children who have moderate and severe learning disabilities.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 until 16:30 on a long-term basis.
The successful Candidate will:
* Candidates will need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
* Provide one-on-one support to students with Education Health Care plans (EHCP's)
* Monitor and manage student's behaviour and wellbeing
* Support the development of social and emotional skills
* Assist with personal care if needed
* Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
* A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
