We are looking for a Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our well-established theatre team. You will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team with some of the most well renowned surgeons in the world. We are an independent charity based hospital with a history in dating back 160 years!
This role would ideally suit an experienced Scrub Nurse / Practitioner who is ready for the next step in their career. You will be passionate about high quality service delivery and patient care. You will ideally have a minimum of 2-3 years experience preferably working in both NHS and Private settings. You must have an excellent work ethic and always be willing to put the patient first we at HJE are always striving for Excellence.

Am I the right person for this Senior Scrub Practitioner role?
Registered Nurse with recognised post graduate theatre qualification or equivalent experience or Registered ODP with cert HE/Diploma
Evidence of continuing professional development
Significant post registration skills
Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge base of theatre practice
Experience in orthopaedics and Urology
Experience in a wide variety of surgeries
Specialist knowledge operating theatre care
The ability to communicate with clarity and intelligibility in both written and spoken English. Ability to build a rapport, listen, persuade and negotiate
Flexibility to change shifts when department needs change
Must be able to participate in the on call rota if required
Able to operate under pressure, cope with setbacks, self-aware
What are the Responsibilities of this Senior Scrub Practitioner role?
Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluation of a high level of peri-operative patient care
Leading individual teams in the role of team leader to ensure adherence to the 5 steps to safer surgery and the safe and efficient running of the list.
Exhibiting a high level of teamwork with the Theatre Suite and in the wider hospital environment.
Participate fully as a team member, including working in all areas of the theatre suite, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.
Effective management of resources within the department
Participate in education, training and development of other staff.
Ensure all equipment is checked prior to use and any faults reported immediately.
Help to prevent cross infection by observing departmental policy regarding dress, the maintenance of a clean working environment, decontamination and sterilisation procedures and a high level of aseptic practice.
