Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Oversight & Liaison: Act as the key point of contact between schools and financial operations, ensuring smooth coordination and minimal disruption to services.
2. Expert Financial Guidance: Provide advice on financial matters and assist with financial reporting and planning across the team.
3. Operational Financial Tasks: Manage invoicing, purchase orders, payments, and reporting using financial systems like SAP/Oracle.
4. Budget Monitoring & Reporting: Regularly monitor budgets and provide reports to senior management, identifying trends and providing mitigation strategies for financial risks.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain communication with internal stakeholders and external customers, addressing queries and providing financial solutions.
6. Team Collaboration & Support: Support the development of the dashboard, ensuring accurate monitoring of costs, income, and targets.
7. Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvements within the financial system, learning new tools and adapting to changing needs.
8. Travel: Independent travel to meetings and site visits across the county.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
1. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with complex data, perform accurate calculations, and create financial reports.
2. Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain complex financial information to a wide audience.
3. Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems like SAP/Oracle.
4. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, working independently while meeting deadlines.
5. Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying financial risks and proposing solutions.
6. Customer Focused: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
7. Qualifications: A business-related qualification or equivalent (e.g., graduate level or AAT).
8. Experience: Previous experience in finance, budget management, and providing financial advice.
9. Desirable Experience: Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues is a plus.
