I am currently recruiting for Childrens Residential Support Workers / Waking Nights on behalf of BRAND NEW, STUNNING Children's Residential Home in Leiston, Suffolk. The home is supports children with emotional and social behavioural challenges, between the ages of 9 - 17, and are in need of full time day and night staff to join their growing team!
Childrens Residential Support Worker
Salary: £22,160 - £28,240
Location: Leiston, Suffolk (IP16 Postcode)
Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week
Shift pattern - Day contracts: Mixture of early, late and long day shifts with sleep ins
Shift pattern - Night contracts: 4 x night shifts per week, 10pm - 8am
**Due to the nature of the job of a childrens residential support worker and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full drivers licence and a car**
No two days are ever the same, so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. It is challenging, but incredibly rewarding work!!

Responsibilities of a childrens residential support worker:
*
To encourage healthy activities and hobbies.
*
Encouraging the young people to take responsibility within their own lives.
*
To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
*
To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
*
Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
*
Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
*
Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
*
Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up to date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
*
Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
*
Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements:
*
Experience within another healthcare or social care setting - DESIRABLE
*
You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time - ESSENTIAL
*
You must be over the age of 22 - ESSENTIAL
*
NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People - DESIRABLE
*
You must be able to commute to Leiston & commit to a flexible shift pattern - ESSENTIAL
