A leading manufacturer, based in Newmarket, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join the team to support the procurement of materials critical to their production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research and select vendors who can supply raw materials, components, or equipment.
2. Establish favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
3. Purchase raw materials, parts, or services required for manufacturing.
4. Ensure purchases are cost-effective without compromising quality.
5. Manage stock levels and monitor inventory levels, reordering materials when necessary.
6. Inspect incoming goods to ensure they meet quality specifications.
7. Address any issues with defective materials or late deliveries.
8. Monitor trends and work with production teams while coordinating with finance.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within manufacturing.
2. Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving cost efficiencies and favorable terms.
3. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
4. Proficient in inventory management and ERP software.
5. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
