HPC Compute Engineer
Location: South Yorkshire - Remote Position
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

As an HPC Compute Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, optimizing, and maintaining the high-performance computing infrastructure that powers their software solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage HPC clusters to support computational workloads.
* Optimize existing systems for maximum performance and resource utilization.
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues within HPC systems and associated tools.
* Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of software with HPC environments.
* Stay abreast of emerging HPC trends, technologies, and best practices.
* Perform routine maintenance, updates, and capacity planning for HPC infrastructure.
Essential Skills:
* Strong experience with HPC systems, including cluster management and scheduling tools (e.g., Slurm, PBS, or Grid Engine).
* Proficiency in Linux-based systems and shell scripting.
* Experience with performance tuning and optimization of large-scale compute systems.
* Knowledge of parallel computing concepts and frameworks (e.g., MPI, OpenMP).
* Familiarity with networking protocols and storage solutions commonly used in HPC.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in cloud-based HPC solutions (e.g., AWS ParallelCluster, Azure Batch).
* Programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages.
* Exposure to containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity).
* Understanding of machine learning workflows and their integration with HPC.
