The Opportunity
In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions aimed at supporting individuals to gain essential employability skills and personal development qualifications. Your role will involve teaching various topics, including job search strategies, positive attitudes, health and safety, mental health awareness, personal development, safeguarding, and customer service skills.
You will work closely with learners across South and West Yorkshire, providing them with the support and guidance needed to enhance their employability prospects. The courses are delivered in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and local employers.
You will tailor your teaching approach to meet the individual needs of each learner, ensuring they develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills required for success. You will also work with local employers, creating links that benefit both learners and the wider community.
This role involves covering essential topics such as safeguarding, British Values, and the Prevent Duty, while also focusing on improving learners' English and maths skills.
You will be involved in all stages of the learner journey, from conducting initial assessments to providing continuous support and tracking progress. Regular feedback collection from learners and employers will be essential.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need strong teaching and interpersonal skills. You will conduct high-quality initial assessments and provide guidance to prospective learners. Delivering exceptional inductions across employability courses and workshops is key, as is tracking attendance.
You will support learners’ progression into employment by planning and delivering engaging sessions that develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours. This includes creating session plans, schemes of work, and learner resources.
Assessing learners and providing timely developmental feedback is essential. You will maintain accurate records, complete learner surveys, and gather case studies for promotional purposes.
This role is home-based, with venue parking costs covered. Travel expenses can be claimed after the first 15 miles.
Key Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
Required:
1. Teaching qualification at level 4 and willingness to work towards level 4
2. English and Maths at level 2 or willing to work towards
3. Level 3 vocational qualification
4. 2 years experience delivering high-quality employability provision
Preferred:
1. Level 5 teaching qualification
2. TAQA/Assessor qualification at level 3 or willingness to work towards
3. IQA qualification
