Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician Apprentice
To develop the skills and knowledge in all areas of hospital pharmacy practice required to become a qualified Pharmacy Technician to deliver a 7-day patient-focused pharmaceutical service.
This will involve completion of the Pharmacy Technician (integrated) Apprenticeship and level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
Main Duties of the Job
To complete a 2-year training and development apprenticeship under the supervision of a registered Pharmacy Technician and/or Pharmacist, in line with the requirements of the external training provider. This will include:
* Undertaking and completing the Pharmacy Technician (integrated) Apprenticeship.
* Undertaking and completing the Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians in line with the external training provider requirements.
* Training and working in the designated areas within pharmacy, as set out in the training and development schedule, to complete the competencies required for each standard.
* Contributing to the provision of a range of pharmaceutical services including the following core duties: dispensing, medicine management, procurement, distribution (including ward top-up services), aseptic services, and medicine safety.
To ensure all pharmacy duties are carried out in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional guidelines e.g., Code of Ethics for Pharmacy Technicians, COSHH regulations, EC Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety regulations, and following the pharmacy departments and Trust procedures to meet the needs of our patients and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade C / level 4 and above in Maths, English, and Science (Chemistry & Biology), or other relevant qualifications.
Skills
* Proven verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work well within various teams or work alone using initiative.
* Excellent IT skills and ability to use Excel and Word.
* Ability to plan and prioritise own work.
* Attention to detail and accuracy, whilst working under pressure.
* Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines whilst working under pressure.
* Ability to deal confidentially and directly with all members of staff and members of the public.
* Able to use a keyboard for a large part of the day.
* Able to adapt to change.
Experience
* Previous experience working in a hospital or community pharmacy.
* Understanding of the role of a hospital pharmacy technician.
* Understanding of the values of the NHS.

Lead Technician for Education and Training
£23,615 to £25,674 a year Band 2 / 3 depending on NHS experience.
