Familiar with BS 7671, I.S. 1010, UL 508A, and UL 1558. Competence in designing low-voltage distribution systems, switchboards (MDB/SDB), and DC systems. Ability to prepare electrical calculations such as load, arc flash, short circuit, and busbar sizing. Expertise in AutoCAD for design work. Proficiency in Eplan, Etap, Siemens SIMARIS, Schneider EcoStruxure, and ABB e-Design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and critical questioning capabilities. LV Electrical Design Engineer Skills: Analyse client-provided documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), specifications, BOMs, and site layouts. Develop detailed electrical plans and specifications for low-voltage systems. Perform calculations for load, short circuits, arc flash, and cable sizing to meet project requirements and standards. Design switchboard layouts, including General Arrangement drawings, panel layouts, front views, BOMs, and schematics. Ensure all designs meet IEC, BS, UL, and CSA standards. Prepare and manage detailed discrimination study reports and cable schedules. Develop comprehensive tender, construction, and as-built drawings. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align on design deliverables and resolve scope gaps. Work closely with the purchasing, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution. Review and verify equipment configurations and liaise with suppliers for specifications and component selection. Oversee submittals and approvals processes, procurement tracking, and delivery verification for electrical equipment. Review electrical installations with operations teams to ensure proper implementation and maintainability. Participate in client and internal meetings to monitor project progress and communicate updates. Develop procedures and standards for transitioning designs to manufacturing and operational teams.
