Leadership and Strategy Development 1.Be corporately accountable as an executive member of the Board for strategic planning, resource allocation, service quality, performance management and governance. 2.Create and continually develop the right conditions to enable successful organisational performance that improves the health of our local population and delivers high quality services. 3.Provide visible, clear and consistent values-based leadership, modelling behaviours in keeping with the Federations vision and values and creating an inclusive culture within which colleagues feel supported, empowered and safe to speak up. 4.Create a positive climate of partnership working, fostering excellent employee relations. 5.Work with the Chair and Board to develop and promote a clear and ambitious vision and strategic priorities for the future of the Federation. 6.Oversee the development of the Federations Business Plan which is agreed with the Board and GP member practices; and shared with key partners, including commissioners. 7.Provide clear strategic direction to the leadership team and across the Federation, ensuring focus on the continuous improvement, quality and delivery of key performance measures across all teams and departments. 8.Make strategic and financial decisions that determine the trajectory of the company. 9.Horizon scan for trends, anticipating challenges and policy direction that will impact the Federation, Primary care and the health and care system, assessing impact and maximising opportunities. 10.Ensure that the Federation has systems and processes in place to review and evaluate new opportunities, and to identify, manage and mitigate against potential risks and threats to the Federation and its work. Leading the Executive Leadership Team 11.Lead the development of the Federations Executive and Senior Leadership Teams (EMT and SMT) in line with the goals and vision set by the Board, providing effective line management to the Chief Operating Officer. 12.Work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer and Directors to grow and strengthen the organisation; continuing to increase its sustainability. 13.Enable innovation and creativity to develop new areas of work across the healthcare system that have a positive impact on patients Corporate Governance 14.Develop a constructive and open relationship with the Federation Chair through regular communication and meetings. 15.Ensure planning arrangements are in place and high-quality agenda papers are produced for monthly meetings of the Board in order to facilitate effective discussions and decision making by the Board. 16.Work with the Financial Controller to prepare the organisations annual budgets, advising the Board of risks and opportunities. 17.Ensure that the Federation maintains financial viability, uses resources effectively and controls and reports its finances and performance in accordance with Company requirements. 18.Work with the Head of Human Resources to ensure that the Federation follows best practice in managing and supporting its staff. 19.Ensure that organisational policies and procedures are developed and agreed to reflect current best practice, and to ensure that they are adopted and followed effectively by all staff. Service Delivery & Service Development 20.Ensure that all contracts held by the Federation are delivered to a high standard, and that all practices within the Federation are engaged, empowered and supported. 21.Ensure that the Federation provides effective strategic and operational leadership to the North Central London Training Hub, delivering against strategic workforce goals. 22.Ensure that patient safety, clinical outcomes and patient experience are maintained and improved in relation to all contracts commissioned through the Federation. 23.Ensure that effective reporting arrangements are in place to track progress against plans and to escalate issues and risks as appropriate. 24.Ensure that effective performance measurement and monitoring arrangements are in place to demonstrate practice performance in relation to all services commissioned through the Federation. Representation 25.Ensure that effective communication is maintained between the Federation and all member GP practices and that effective systems and processes are in place so that the Federation is aware of the views, suggestions, and concerns of local practices in relation to key issues and plans. 26.Be a key representative of the company communicating with shareholders, the general public and wider stakeholders on the vision and direction of the organisation. 27.Build connections with key stakeholders which encourage collaboration, innovation and partnership and integration opportunities which deliver better care for local people. 28.Actively contribute to the GPPA and the Borough Partnership. 29.Contribute to the development of strategic ambitions for Haringey, North Central London and Primary Care in general. 30.Strategic Management of external relationships with local, regional and other partners seeking to create strong alliances, strategies for influencing and embedding integrated working. 31.Be an ambassador for our population and General Practice in Haringey, actively promoting dialogue and involvement with patients and the public. 32.Represent the interests of Haringey GP Federation and the practices that are its members in the local, regional and where appropriate national context.
