We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Tutor / Outreach Tutor / Outreach Teacher to provide one-to-one educational support in Clacton-on-Sea.
This flexible role offers up to £25 per hour, depending on experience, and operates outside of IR35. Hours and caseloads are adaptable to suit availability.
Role:
As an Outreach Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students who are unable to attend mainstream education due to SEND, SEMH, or the risk of permanent exclusion. This rewarding position involves delivering one-to-one and small group sessions in subjects such as Maths, English, PSHE, interventions, and mentoring. Sessions take place in various settings, including pupils' homes, local libraries, and schools. Applicants should have a strong understanding of Literacy and Maths, along with experience working with children, particularly those with additional learning needs. Students range from EYFS to Year 11 and require support up to GCSE or Functional Skills level.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include delivering personalised tutoring sessions, inspiring and motivating students to overcome learning barriers, building strong relationships with students and families, adapting teaching methods to suit individual needs, and utilising educational resources and technology to enhance learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in tutoring or teaching across diverse age groups. While QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or a relevant degree in Education, English, or Maths is preferred, it is not essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting student success are crucial. The role requires flexibility to adapt; teaching approaches, an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (support available for application if required), and the right to work in the UK.

Working hours are flexible, ranging from part-time to full-time, usually between 9am and 4pm during term time only. Weekly pay is provided, and self-employed contract options are available, including Ltd and Umbrella payroll options. Successful candidates can expect to start work within two weeks of registration.
