They are looking to expand the Finance team with a Junior Investment Accountant, my client is looking for ambitious and driven candidates who are actively studying towards a professional qualification and want to grow through post qualification with a business Your main responsibility will be Management & Financial Accounting across a portfolio of Commercial and Residential Real Estate. Responsibilities: Prepare management accounts for various Real Estate entities. Ensure financial statements are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with reporting requirements. Prepare quarter-end journals for accurate and timely reporting. Conduct detailed financial reviews of all transactions with appropriate documentation. Provide detailed variance narratives to support movements in Quarter-on-Quarter figures. Assist in producing forecasts by liaising with asset/project managers and analysts. Timely upload of final quarterly figures to the Group Reporting team for consolidation. Ensure accurate and timely approval of invoices, adhering to internal policies. Conduct detailed reporting and analysis on development cost accounts to meet project managers' and stakeholders' needs. Prepare analysis of actual spend versus budgeted costs of developments. Prepare VAT returns for review by the Group VAT Manager. Ensure compliance with CIS requirements and prepare returns for HMRC. Assist with specific ad hoc VAT analysis of properties and entities. Coordinate with External Financial Auditors for the review of Year End Pack and address any queries. Submit Year End figures to the Tax Department for annual Tax Computations. Review and submit Audited Year End figures for Statutory Accounts preparation. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and controls. Collaborate closely with senior accounting team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely reporting. Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably within real estate or private equity. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with VAT returns and compliance is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage individual tasks. Strong communication skills, capable of working cross-functionally and building relationships. Proactive attitude, adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
