Job Introduction
HMP Bronzefield are looking for a Neurodiversity Tutor (SEN) to join their dedicated learning team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic subject leader to provide dedicated Special Educational Needs support for prisoners to increase their engagement with the regime and become aware of relevant coping strategies on offer and to plan, develop and implement and activities and appropriate support for residents.
HMP & YOI Bronzefield is the largest women’s prison in Europe which accommodates a diverse and complex population of women from restricted Status women who require the highest levels of security, women on remand (Who are often experiencing custody for the first time) as well as supporting women with chronic mental health conditions .

Main Responsibilities
* Liaise with other departments to ensure all learners with neurodiverse needs are supported to develop self-confidence, independence and improve their knowledge and skills.
* Working with individuals who may have physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e., visual or hearing), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional, and mental needs or have a combination of these difficulties.
* Initiate and carry out assessments and prepare and manage the assessment paperwork.
* Ensure that quality assurance procedures are adhered to and are used to achieve high standards.
* Assist in the development of behaviour policies and procedures to meet the needs of all learners.
* Work and collaborate with other teaching staff within the department/prison to ensure that the activities reflect the needs of the prisoners within the subject areas e.g., in healthcare.

The Ideal Candidate
* Full teaching qualification (Minimum of CTLLS) or PGCE
* A minimum of two years of qualified teaching experience
* A good understanding of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice.
* To have an interest in the rehabilitation and resettlement of offenders.
* The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behaviour.
* Patience, understanding and empathy with learners.
Package Description
Salary up to £42,091.51 per annum - depending on experience.
£38,362.27 per annum plus £3,729.24 London Weighting per annum.
Working Hours - 37.50 hours (Regular Monday – Friday pattern)
