Maintenance Technician (Electronics)
To assist in the efficient operation of the M25 Tunnels by undertaking maintenance and other tasks as required by the Shift Manager.
This is a 4 days on - 4 days off, 12-hour shift: 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off.
The Role
1. Be conversant with Plant Monitoring and Control Systems, including SCADA, PLCs, I/O, networking, etc.
2. Be familiar with a range of electronic/technology equipment including CCTV, incident detection, radio rebroadcast, telephone networks, fire alarm systems, air monitoring, etc. within the Dartford River Crossing and other M25 Tunnels, under normal and emergency conditions.
3. Repair and maintain the traffic safety system on the approach to the Dartford tunnels including sensors, barriers, and traffic signals.
4. Complete any records as required, including daily worksheets and maintenance report sheets.
5. Read drawings and carry out fault finding and repairs without supervision.
6. Carry out any work of a manual, semi-skilled, or skilled nature of any type of trade description (including “out of trade” work) under the instructions of the Shift Manager.
7. Drive vehicles as required for maintenance purposes.
8. Attend incidents and work safely in accordance with policies to facilitate the early clear up of hazards/incidents.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Recognised Electronic or Technology Qualifications or Apprenticeship.
2. IT literate.
3. Card holder (or willing to undertake training) in (but not limited to): MEWPS, Confined Spaces, CSCS.
Experience
1. Experience of routine maintenance and repairs to a wide range of electronics/technology equipment.
2. Practical maintenance or servicing experience with a wide knowledge of computer/logic control systems.
3. Fault finding using schematic drawings.
4. Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
5. Ability to carry out installation work to current legislation/standards.
