An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Device Physicist to join our talented team at Nanoco, we are the pioneer and go-to manufacturer of cutting edge quantum dots for the nanotechnology era.
The Device Physicist will drive the development of our semiconductor device fabrication and characterisation methods using Nanoco’s proprietary nanomaterials and quantum dots (QDs). The role involves hands-on fabrication, process optimisation, and characterisation to advance infrared QD photodetector technology.
Key responsibilities
1. Develop and optimise fabrication processes for infrared QD photodetectors using proprietary colloidal QDs as inorganic active layers.
2. Plan, execute, and analyse experiments, drawing conclusions and sharing results with the team.
3. Contribute to intellectual property (IP) development through invention disclosures and patents.
4. Advance understanding and expertise of QD device physics through literature reviews, research, and technical discussions.
5. Problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges in device fabrication and characterisation.
6. Specify, procure, install, and maintain fabrication and metrology equipment, including tools for device metrology and process implementation.
