Job Title: PREPARE Project COS-P Co-Facilitator

A Brief Job Description:
HOURS: 6 hours/week (Hours may be incorporated into current SPCC position, and/or in addition to current SPCC hours for applicants as needed.)
JOB SUMMARY: This position will be dedicated to facilitating up to 4 COS-P groups per year to parents referred by MCDHS CPS. They will also assist with providing support for Baby & Me group visitation and complete all necessary documentation and data collection and submit it to Lead Coordinator in a timely manner.
COMPENSATION RANGE: $22.67-26.08/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Assist with weekly set-up and clean-up of the COS-P group space.
2. As assigned, outreach to parent participants via text or phone call as needed for support and be available to transport parent and children to and from program if necessary. Communicate any conflicts or absences to PREPARE facilitation team.
3. Participate in weekly Baby & Me group visitation sessions; integrate COS-P concepts with parents within that space.
4. Track and continually assess COS-P supplies. Communicate to Lead Coordinator when supplies and items for PREPARE are running low and must be ordered promptly.
5. Transparently communicate with Lead Coordinator any issues or concerns related to managing multiple roles or responsibilities.
6. Collaborate with PREPARE team to organize, coordinate, track, and facilitate up to 4 COS-P groups per year under this project.
7. In partnership with PREPARE Facilitation Team, support in the facilitation of the group in-person orientation with participants.
8. Facilitate and encourage pre/post measures being completed by participants during group orientation.
9. Complete assigned pre and post Parent-Child Observation Tool (PCOT) measures as well as weekly Baby & Me measures and ensure timely submission to Lead Coordinator.
10. Attend all weekly PREPARE meetings with PREPARE facilitation team (which may include planning sessions, group supervision, and fidelity coaching).
11. In collaboration with Lead Coordinator, contribute to weekly newsletter summaries that include group themes and activities in COS-P groups that get distributed to parents, foster parents, caseworkers, and relevant stakeholders via email.
12. In collaboration with Lead Coordinator, document attendance and theme of weekly COS-P sessions.
13. Complete other tasks as assigned by Lead Coordinator or Director of Clinical & Reflective Practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field, with at least 2 years' experience working with children and families impacted by trauma, loss, poverty and adversity, child maltreatment, and caregiver-child relationships, preferred.
2. Trained as COS-P facilitator or obtain training within first 2 months of hire.
3. Completed Infant Mental Health (IMH) training or obtain training within the first 6 months of being hired.
4. Able to center the needs and experience of children and families.
5. Experience working within child welfare system through a relationship-based framework, to advocate for family voice and choice.
6. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building/maintenance skills.
7. Clear, consistent, and timely verbal and written communication skills.
8. Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
9. Demonstrated ability to remain highly organized and detail-oriented.
10. Demonstrated ability to be forward-thinking in planning.
11. Skilled in critical thinking and an ability to work toward solutions. Able to seek out collaborative support in a timely manner.
12. Demonstrated ability to accept feedback from clients and/or colleagues, consider another’s perspective, and integrate into future decision making.
