Teaching and Learning Support Assistant 32.5hrs Monday – Friday - Term time Fixed term until 31/08/2025 We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to support our children. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering tailored learning experiences and ensuring the children’s educational and emotional needs are met effectively. Key Responsibilities: Support and Instruction: Provide one-on-one support for children, implementing personalised learning strategies and interventions designed to meet the child’s individual needs. Assessment and Planning: Assess the child’s progress and adapt learning plans accordingly. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to create and implement effective personalised plans (in line with a child’s Pupil Passport) and other relevant documentation. Behaviour and Emotional Support: Assist with managing the child’s behaviour and emotional well-being, employing strategies to support positive behaviour and self-regulation. Learning Environment: Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that the student feels valued and motivated. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s education and development. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and communicate regularly with relevant staff and stakeholders regarding the child’s achievements and areas for improvement. Professional Development: Attend training sessions and workshops as required. Qualifications and Experience: Experience: A minimum of one-year experience working with children, preferably within an educational setting. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications for Teaching and Learning Support Assistants (e.g., minimum NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent). Skills: Proven ability to assess and deliver learning tailored to the individual needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support the emotional well-being of the student. Personal Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting the educational and emotional needs of children. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
