Description Head of Legal Consulting Any UK office (3 days per week in the office) Role Overview Vario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. It is unique in the legal sector. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates; Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (‘MLS’). The Head of Legal Consulting will be responsible for leading and managing the Legal Consulting team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service to clients. This role involves strategic planning, client management and the development of innovative legal solutions. The Head of Legal Consulting will work closely with senior leadership across the Vario group to drive the growth and success of both the Legal Consulting function and the wider Vario practice group. Responsibilities will include: Lead a multi-disciplined Legal Consulting function, providing technology and legal operations advisory solutions, to help clients to re-imagine their operating models. Develop and implement innovative legal solutions, leveraging technology and best practiced to optimise service delivery for our clients. Create a high performing team of Legal Operations experts and Legal Technology specialists and provide leadership guidance/support to this team. Design and deploy hybrid teams to ensure client requirements are achieved. Lead the strategic direct of the Legal Consulting function, continually horizon scanning for growth opportunities as we look to expand our global presence. Drive collaboration best practice and proactively identify Vario delivery models to be offered as client solutions. Share insights with delivery functions across the Vario group and wider firm to ensure others are proactively responding to client demand. Ensure all client activity is up to date and shared with internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Firm's clients, identify new business opportunities and expand the Firm's service offering to existing clients. Drive engagement with the Firm's client relationship teams to ensure the Legal Consulting function is aligned with client strategies. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding our client base to help achieve increase revenue and growth. Manage the budget and financial performance of the Legal Consulting function, ensuring profitable growth. Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests. Candidate Overview We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience: Significant business development and/or solutions experience. Experience of working in an alternative legal services environment. Client development experience. Strong track record in growing existing and new business, including revenue initiation. Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing innovative legal solutions, leveraging technology and best practice. Strong commercial awareness and numeracy skills, with the ability to price work and calculate profitability. Ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide practical, business-oriented solutions. What can we offer you?
