Main duties of the job
As a Junior Software Developer, your main responsibilities will include:
12. Building user-centred, web-based systems aligned to NHS and Government service standards.
13. Coding high-quality software with a test-driven approach.
14. Managing source code with our version control system.
15. Designing, coding, testing, and documenting simple programs or scripts under the direction of others.
16. Assisting in fixing faults following agreed procedures and carrying out agreed infrastructure maintenance tasks.
17. Understanding information security and the types of security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.
18. Assisting as part of a team on the design of components of larger systems.
19. Being aware of how to integrate systems and the challenges of designing, building and testing interfaces between systems.
20. Actively participating and contributing to the assurance of code quality.
21. Providing 3rd line support to identify and fix production issues.
Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the development community and the wider team.
22. Planning your own work to achieve agreed objectives, prioritising multiple and sometimes conflicting deliverables
