Job Overview
To work as a senior member of the School Nursing Immunisation Team coordinating and planning services to ensure the safe and effective delivery of school-aged immunisation programmes in primary and secondary schools and community settings across Gwent, working within the Integrated School Nursing Service.
Main duties of the job
* Provide day-to-day management of the team, ensuring the smooth running of the service and maintenance of quality standards.
* Plan and coordinate interventions to ensure vaccine equity in hard-to-reach groups.
* Work collaboratively to achieve team/organisational goals and positively contribute to the overall performance of the team.
* Undertake clinical assessment and vaccine preparation. Adhere to National and Local policies including Patient Group Directions (PGD), National Protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safe working practices, including the supervision of non-registrant immunisers.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge

* Registered Nurse (Adult or Child)
* Specialist knowledge gained within public health across a range of work procedures and practices underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experiences to postgraduate diploma level.
