National Grid is hiring a Enterprise Architect on a permanent basis. The location for this role can be based in Warwick or London - We offer a hybrid working model.
Job Purpose
The DV Enterprise Architect will serve as the primary link between the enterprise architecture team and their aligned product line. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining architectural models, understanding the product line’s functions and needs, and contributing to strategic direction. The role includes driving the delivery of solutions, enabling architectural governance, and evolving the Enterprise Architecture practice, while supporting the product line’s change portfolio and broader organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and maintaining the architectural models that will be used to understand the organisation and manage its change, transformation and optimisation agendas.
* Maintaining an overarching view of the business unit they are aligned to, understanding its functions, digital enablement, information needs and eco-system, ensuring these are incorporated into the wider organisational views.
* Develop input into the strategic context for the product line, in conjunction with the Product Line Director & other architects.
* Drive end-to-end delivery of the solutions that are identified as enabling the product line change portfolio needs.
* Enablement of architectural governance and solution design, supporting the change portfolio needs of the product line and wider organisation.
* Evolving the Enterprise Architecture practice.
What you'll do
* Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain strategies that align actions, resources, and plans with business objectives, and guide stakeholders through strategic processes.
* Information Systems Coordination: Coordinate and promote the adoption of unified technology strategies across the organization.
* Information Management: Implement and manage information and records policies, communicate the value of business data, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Enterprise & Business Architecture: Develop enterprise-wide architecture and systems strategies, ensuring alignment between business and technology.
* Emerging Technology Monitoring: Monitor emerging technologies, assess impacts and opportunities, and share insights with stakeholders.
* Investment Appraisal: Advise on and lead investment appraisals for portfolios and complex projects.
* Sustainability: Provide guidance on sustainability solutions, evaluate methods, and recommend improvements to minimize environmental impact.
* Continuity Management: Develop, implement, and test continuity plans, assess risks, and ensure business continuity in critical processes.
* Business Process Improvement: Manage process improvements, design efficient business workflows, and recommend new approaches for enhanced performance.
* Stakeholder Relationship Management & Line Management: Manage stakeholder communication strategies, support employee engagement, and assist with resource allocation, onboarding, and team collaboration.
About you
* Able to operate at a senior management level (‘D’), building strong relationships and engaging across all levels of the organization.
* Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery.
* Experienced in strategic, investment, and product planning, ensuring alignment with business strategy and priorities.
* In-depth understanding of the business area and its operations.
* Knowledgeable in current and emerging product methods, agile methodologies, and industry trends.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and drive results.
* Solid understanding of financial management, benefits management, and how they link to business outcomes.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £75,000 - £85,000 - dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 15% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
