Third Kind Games - a Virtuos Studio, is a world-class co-development games studio. Third Kind Games was founded in 2016 by a team of nine former Activision veterans and became a Virtuos Studio in 2024. Our studio is based in Royal Leamington Spa and we also have remote studios in Poland and Spain. Our three studios have been built on the same original spirit and values since our beginning.

Senior VFX Artist - Role Overview
You enjoy:
* Working closely with colleagues and customers to develop and deliver the desired visual target for the game and a unique player experience.
* Having the initiative and motivation to work freely on all areas of VFX creation.
* Working with a highly experienced team to create high quality PFX and VFX.
* Advanced PFX skills in Unity.

You would:
* Demonstrate strong VFX technical and visual skills, which are evidenced in your portfolio.
* Be motivated by creative freedom, ground-breaking challenges, and unknown territory rather than being guided by specs and detailed requirements.
* Contribute to Scrum meetings, creating innovative solutions for our games and helping drive the development of the project and the team.
* Be a team player, but also work on your own, whilst knowing when to ask for advice from your colleagues.
* Demonstrate a good, fundamental understanding of game development processes.
* Be naturally inquisitive and keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and developments.
* Share knowledge and recommend best practices across the team and business.

Skills you need
* 3+ years' industry experience working on gaming titles.
* Strong PFX skills using Unity.
* Strong understanding of additional areas including rendering and shaders.
* Experience using game engines including Unity and Unreal.
* Good communication skills and an eye for detail.
* Proven ability working in a team.
Skills it would be great to have
Experience with:
* Working with partners
* Unreal Engine Niagara
* Shader creation
* Houdini
