Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Lawyer with expertise in handling diverse legal matters for a Local Authority. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to significant public service cases while working in a flexible, hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Handle civil litigation and insurance matters for a Local Authority, including preparing and presenting cases.
* Manage cases related to debt recovery for care home fees, planning enforcement, drainage and highways issues, adverse possession, and human rights claims.
* Provide legal advice and representation in accordance with local authority procedures and legislation.
* Attend court and/or office as required (1-2 days per week, preferably Wednesdays/Thursdays).
* Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with civil litigation and insurance experience.
* Expertise in handling cases related to debt recovery, planning enforcement, drainage, highways, adverse possession, and human rights issues.
* Strong legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
