GPW Recruitment is working closely with a leading engineering company to recruit a Principal/Senior Mechanical Engineer. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to lead the delivery of large-scale projects or multiple smaller projects, ensuring top-tier standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership: Lead the mechanical scope for large single projects or a series of smaller greenfield and brownfield projects.
2. HSE and Client Satisfaction: Ensure all work adheres to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and meets client requirements.
3. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery, while managing cost control, progress reporting, and quality assurance.
4. Mechanical Scope Management: Oversee machinery, vessels, and packages, including preparing technical specifications, reviewing vendor drawings, design schemes, site surveys, and estimates.
5. Contract Compliance: Ensure all mechanical engineering works are completed according to contractual terms and requirements.
6. Project Phases: Handle Concept, FEED, and EPC phases, along with consultancy and proposal support.
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Engineering Degree: Required in mechanical engineering.
2. Chartered Membership: Chartered status with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers is essential.
3. Project Experience: Significant engineering and contracting experience across major and minor projects.
4. Leadership: Proven experience leading teams of engineers and designers.
5. Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills due to client and partner interaction.
Desirable Experience:
1. Hands-On Experience: Experience in fabrication, construction, or commissioning phases is highly desirable.
2. Industry Expertise: Knowledge in Process Plant, Hydrogen, Chemicals, Biotech, and emerging sectors is a plus.
3. Design Management: Previous experience in design management will be an advantage.
