About the role:
We seek a reliable and process driven individual to join us. We are looking for a Materials Controller to oversee inventory management and materials handling. You will supervise the department, whilst reporting to the Production Manager, to ensure timely and accurate receiving, storing, and shipping of materials, using the ERP system to track all transactions.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Manage the timely receipt of materials and check for discrepancies.
* Record deliveries and stock movements accurately in the ERP system.
* Ensure materials are stored and protected in appropriate locations.
* Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain stock levels.
* Replenish production inventories and pick materials for works orders.
* Oversee health and safety standards in receiving and storage areas.
* Maintain inventory records and labels/tags.
General Responsibilities:
* Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S).
* Support continuous improvement activities.
* Attend inventory planning meetings and ensure adequate staff coverage.
* Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Attention to Detail: Experience in materials management and inventory control.
* IT/Systems: Familiarity with ERP systems and strong IT skills.
* Natural Relationship Builder: Good leadership and communication skills.
* Best Practice: Knowledge of health and safety standards.
Other skills/Experience we would welcome:
* Forklift/Counterbalance Licence holder (if not, we can train you).
Salary: Circa £35K DOE
Contract: Perm Full Time
Location: EX16 9DN, Devon (This is an On Site role)
Holiday: 20 Days + BH + Christmas Shutdown
