My Client is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer in the Water Sector\n\nLocation - Durham with Hybrid working other locations may be suitable North West, Yorkshire, Midlands\n\nWe design, build and maintain the UK's utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better. Everything we do is designed to drive continual improvement and move life forward. \n\nThe Role:\n\nAs a Senior Process Engineer, you will deliver the process design content of water industry projects as part of a multi-disciplined Water Design Team.\n\nYou will work on a wide variety of water & wastewater projects from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed designs for construction.\n\nYour role as a Senior Process Engineer will be to work collaboratively with other engineers across the business.
You will be responsible for providing the process engineering design including identifying unit processes and systems, producing process calculations and flow diagrams, flow and mass balances, and technical documents.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDevelop process engineering solutions to meet the requirements of the project scope and client specifications\nDeliver process engineering design, including process calculations, flow and mass balances, process flow diagrams\nInput into Process and Instrumentations diagrams and control philosophies\nAnalysis of sampling and site data to inform process design solutions\nWork collaboratively with members of the multi-disciplinary project team\nProvide and communicate the process design element within a multi-disciplinary team\nPrepare and review technical reports and other written documents including supplier specifications\nGood understanding of Water Industry Standards, statutory regulatory and non-regulatory requirements. This includes CDM, WIMES, HAZOP, DSEAR, COSHH\nActive participant in SWIFT and HAZOP studies. Where required undertake the Scribe / Secretary role.\nUndertake site visits and process surveys\nInput into process commissioning plans and sampling programmes.\nProvide process design support to the site team during the construction and commissioning stages\nEngage with the Client and other third parties, including suppliers\nAwareness of health & safety, environment and sustainability within proposed designs\nAwareness off resource, budget and programme requirements on projects.\nKeep up to date with industry best practice and technical innovations, and incorporate into design solutions where possible\nSupervise the work of early career process engineers, providing technical guidance and a check and review process.\nAssist the Principal Process Engineer in developing the Process Team though training and mentoring.Skills & Experience\n\nDemonstrable experience in the design and optimisation of water and / or wastewater treatment processes from concept to detailed design.\nExperience of working on site to undertake site surveys, optimisation of process systems and process commissioning.\nWilling to travel to site and Client offices.\nComputer literate and conversant with MS Office suite.
Ability to use process modelling software desirable.\nExperience of Water Recycling / Reuse\nExperience of HAZOP studies as a team member and scribe / secretary.\nExperience of DSEAR desirable\nExcellent written and oral communication skills. Able to produce technical reports in clear, concise English and communicate technical proposals clearly and concisely.\nA team player and communicator who can provide the process technical expertise and direction to a multi-disciplinary team and adhere to project timelines.\nAble to work on own initiative.\nAble to run several projects simultaneously.\nA desire to develop existing technical skills and an enthusiasm to embrace and participate in career development initiatives.\nMember of the IChemE (MIChemE) and registered as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Engineering Council. Equivalent grades for CIWEM acceptable
