We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a worldwide Heavy Engineering company based in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and well known Sheffield based company. Due to their continued success they have a requirement for a Electrical Maintenance Engineer to cover the electrical operational requirements of the plant.As Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will be working in a small Electrical team on each shift and be reporting into the Electrical Operations Engineer. To be a successful team member you will have experience with dealing with a wide range of mechanical faults and must be able to respond to situation's quickly and effectively. Daily duties and responsibilities will include:
* Electrical maintenance of all motors and drives.
* Fault finding on electronic cards to component level.
* Electrical maintenance of overhead D.C. and A.C. cranes.
* Maintenance of PLC systems, specifically ABB and Allen Bradley.
* Use of programming tools to identify faults on PLC systems and changed parameters as required.
* Monitoring and maintaining the furnace control systems, calibration of controllers and the air / gas transducers, changing of thermocouples and the lighting procedure of furnaces.
* Reacting to breakdown requirements and safely / quickly identifying faults to minimise the impact on production.
Criteria for Electrical Maintenance Engineer candidates:
* Education to H.N.C. Level in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
* An understanding and ability to interpret electrical drawings.
* Experience in writing reports detailing the activities during shift.
* Experience in working to safety legislation relevant to operations and electrical maintenance.
* Have a strong background within Electrical Engineering within a Heavy Engineering plant.
* Maintain good housekeeping and standards in own work area and out on plant.
* Adhere to all and any safety related legislation relevant to operations and mechanical maintenance.
* Able to work fully autonomously and make decisions on own.
This role would suit an experience Electrical Shift Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Maintenance Technician that has worked within a steelworks, heavy engineering or production environment. Benefits include;

Shift pattern for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer; Mornings, Afternoons and Nights rotating on a 3 week shift pattern. 1 Saturday in 3 included on Mornings week. Week 1; 5 x 9 hr night shifts Monday - Friday. Week 2; 5 x 8hr afternoon shifts Monday - Friday. Week 3; 5 x 7hr morning shifts Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri, Sat.
