Job summary This job is a fantastic opportunity to care for childrens medical needs within our acute. The ward cares for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. Within the general acute ward we offer Shared care for our oncology children, whilst also offering experience with complex paediatric patients, diabetes, respiratory and other complex medical conditions. Whilst a small team, there are opportunities to rotate to the Emergency Department, across site, Day Unit and Childrens Outpatient as we all work well to provide the best care to all children needing to attend Epsom Hospital. Education is supported by nursing team, medical team and clinical nurse specialists Main duties of the job To provide child centred, evidence based, high quality care to children and their families in the acute paediatric ward setting. To implement and evaluate family centred care and to be responsible for the delivery of care and assessment, development and evaluations of individual programmes of care Safeguard all children To take delegated responsibility for children working as part of a team to ensure care delivered is to a high standard To be responsible for mentoring pre-registration students About us Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey.
