The Test Environment Lead will join our small but multifaceted Environment Management Team. In this role, you will take charge of the Non-Production Test Environment requirements for any project or continuous work coming through the demand pipeline. Your responsibilities will encompass offering mentorship, ensuring governance, and serving as the primary escalation point for any Non-Prod Environment-related issues.

You will spend a proportion of your time on strategic improvements within the team, as you will be part of an exciting transformation of the Environment Management Team’s future as we navigate our way into hybrid Cloud models and DevOps ways of working.
Responsibilities
Ownership of Non-Production Test Environment usage & requirements for projects and programmes of work, including:
1. Analysis of new demand and identifying timeline, usage costs, point of contact, requirements & recommended route to Production.
2. Support users in booking the appropriate Environments & review booking requests for accuracy & alignment.
3. Governing the adherence to our processes.
4. Collaboration with project/programme teams, as Environment point of contact.
5. Escalation support for Non-Prod Incidents and Requests
6. Understand ways of working & promote Environment governance including in low-adherence areas.
Supporting strategic improvements including:
7. Be part of a lively programme of work to align the Environment Management Team with future ways of working, including a decommissioning project, a move to a new booking tool, creation of the Configuration Management Database, redefining and detailing our purpose, policy, and processes, raising the profile of the team and improving the core skills of the team.
8. Understanding and detailing integration/middleware methods - driving the work of those involved in the support of environments for integration and ensuring that information and knowledge are detailed.
9. Facilitate and maintain an inventory of environment components and landscape, to feed into our new Configuration Management Database, including branching into technical details.
10. Produce and maintain environment architecture change schedule, including but not limited to minor/major changes, OS, security, and network changes.

12. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide objective summaries of complex information.

14. Comfortable with context-switching throughout the day.
15. Comfortable working without the rigid structure and processes of Production as we navigate & improve what this needs to look like in the future.
Desirable (but not essential) experience:
16. Experience working in a large multi business unit organisation
17. Experience working with Hybrid Cloud & On-Premise Environments
18. Experienced in Agile and DevOps methodology.
19. Knowledge of automated pipelines.
