My client is looking to fill a Commercial Engineer - Contracts Engineer to join their team!
To monitor and control orders (contracts) received by the company, to ensure the expectations of our customers are satisfied, to ensure all related departments are aware of the requirements of the order and that these are achieved.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor progress of orders through all departments against pre-agreed targets, prompting where required. Ensure this information is regularly reported to sales, engineering, and production personnel.
2. Ensure that engineering and production departments are aware of long lead time 'sub contracted' items that could impact on the delivery of an order.
3. Handle and control changes, variations, and amendments to orders, ensuring these are processed to gain maximum advantage.
4. Manage and oversee customer visits and inspections, ensuring all departments are aware and ready for such visits.
5. Prepare and process customer contract documentation as agreed with the sales department and in accordance with the contract requirements. Ensure outstanding customer information is progressed in a timely manner to meet all control mileposts.
6. Liaise with customers to ensure agreed mileposts are achieved; if for any reason there are delays, ensure that the customer is kept informed at all times.
7. Liaise with the sales order scheduler to ensure that contracts requiring export documentation, packing, and/or shipping are dealt with effectively and efficiently and in line with the customer's expectations.
8. Liaise with subcontract packing companies as required with reference to customer packing requirements.
Skills
Essential:
1. Good IT skills, including Microsoft products such as Word and Excel.
2. Self-motivated.
3. Organised, accurate, and have an eye for detail.
4. Sound knowledge of Incoterms, contracts, and terms and conditions of sale.
5. Customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
6. Export or international experience.
Desirable:
1. Degree in electrical, electronic, or control engineering.
2. Familiarity with large OEMs and contractors or international customers.
