We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant at a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds. Your Role:
As a Graduate Humanities Teaching Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to:
* Assist in delivering engaging lessons across subjects like history, geography, and other humanities topics
* Support students on a one-to-one or small group basis to help them understand key concepts and improve their academic skills
* Help create and prepare lesson materials that foster critical thinking and engagement
* Encourage students to develop their problem-solving and analytical skills through the study of humanities
* Track students’ progress and provide feedback to support their academic development
* Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and motivated
* Assist with classroom management, ensuring students stay on task and engaged throughout lessons
What We’re Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
* A 2:1 degree or higher in a Humanities-related field (History, Geography, Politics, Sociology, or similar)
* A passion for education and a genuine desire to support students in their learning
* Previous experience working with students is desirable, but not essential
* A fully enhanced DBS check on the update service
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to helping students
* A strong interest in pursuing a career in education, particularly within the humanities
