An exciting new Head of Financial Reporting opportunity at DX About us DX is a private equity owned, well-established provider of a wide range of delivery services, including parcel freight, secure, courier and logistics services, across the UK and Ireland. DX provides a wide range of delivery services to both business and residential addresses. The Group operates through two divisions, DX Express and DX Freight DX Express focuses on next-day or scheduled courier deliveries and has a well-developed offering in secure services for the delivery of items of value. It also operates a private members delivery network, DX Exchange, catering mainly for the legal, financial and public sectors. DX Freight provides next-day or scheduled delivery services for parcels and irregular dimension and weight items, as well as comprehensive logistics solutions, including warehouse management and the operation of customer-liveried vehicles. The DX Finance function has around 45 staff based largely in Ditton Park with teams in Northampton and Willenhall Role summary: Following its recent acquisition by a private equity firm, DX is recruiting a Head of Group Reporting. The successful candidate will join at an exciting time as the group has begun to make acquisitions for the first time in several years. This key position will be responsible for producing the monthly management reporting required by our owners and lenders. In addition, this role will be responsible for monitoring the group’s covenant compliance. The role has one direct report and will also prepare the group’s consolidated financial statements. This newly created role would suit a qualified accountant with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to handle complexity and an aptitude for finance systems. Key responsibilities Preparation of the group monthly management accounts pack. The management accounts are distributed to the board, owners and lenders. Management of group cash requirements including debt. Lead on debt and covenant management including developing a thorough understanding of the covenant requirements in the group’s debt documents. Produce regular forecasts of the group’s covenant and cash position based on DX’s budget and forecasts and identify opportunities to optimise the group’s position. Preparation of the group’s annual financial statements. Maintain the models for going concern and intangible asset impairment for use in the audit. Manage the Financial Reporting Analyst including review of IFRS 16 lease accounting. Actively participate in ad-hoc projects for example, system upgrades, enhancing internal reporting and supporting acquisitions. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) Understanding of consolidation accounting Excellent excel skills including modelling cashflows. Experience of finance systems including report writing. Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of reporting. Excellent oral and written communication with ability to engage across all levels. Ability to deliver high quality work to deadlines.
