Senior Commercial Property Lawyer & Team Leader
Working Arrangement: Hybrid – Minimum 2 days per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Salary: £49,500 - £53,500 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial Property Lawyer & Team Leader to join a Council in the Midlands. This role involves both high-level legal work in commercial property law and the day-to-day management of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership & Management: Overseeing and allocating the workload of a team of four legal professionals, ensuring the efficient delivery of services
* Complex Commercial Property Law Matters: Leading on high-value and complex matters, including development projects, landlord and tenant issues, disposals, acquisitions, and commercial conveyancing
* Legal Drafting & Negotiation: Interpreting, drafting, and negotiating legal documentation across various statutory and non-statutory agreements
* Specialist Legal Advice: Providing expert legal advice on property-related issues, including title reporting, education law, residential property, highways, and charity law
* Compliance & Governance: Ensuring that all statutory and procedural requirements are met while supporting the Council’s objectives and revenue generation through property management
About You:
* Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with substantial experience in commercial property law
* Proven experience managing a legal team, including workload allocation and performance monitoring
* Strong background in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents related to property transactions
* Ability to provide high-level legal advice to senior stakeholders and elected members
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and local government procedures
