We are pleased to offer a full-time opportunity for a Family Time Supervisor within our Family Time Service. This role offers a unique chance to gain experience and develop skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will be responsible for providing safe, meaningful supervised contact for children who are in the care of Hampshire. The children could be aged from birth to in their teens. Contacts could be in a Hampshire County Council building (mainly Dame Mary Fagan House in Basingstoke, but also Beech Hurst in Andover) or out in the community. For example, some children can visit a library, go shopping, bowling. Once at the venue, the Contact Supervisor would observe the contact whilst taking notes. When contact is complete, the child is returned to their Foster Carer or at times placement. The Contact Supervisor would then complete a report which could be used for court purposes in the future if required. Please note, you will be expected to work flexibly and may be asked to work early mornings or later evenings, and 1 in 4 Saturdays to support family needs. You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire (and the Isle of Wight or other local authority), and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis. For this role, you need to be experienced in working with children and families in need, plus the ability to develop effective relationships with children, their carers and other professionals. Knowledge of child development and safeguarding is essential. You also need the ability to work flexibly around allocated finishing time to transport children. What can we offer in return? We believe in rewarding our staff for their commitment to delivering essential public services with competitive salary and an extensive range of benefits.
