Position: Attendance Manager

Contract: Full-Time (Term-Time Only)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and organised Attendance Manager to join our Ofsted-rated GOOD secondary school in Blackburn. We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible to help ensure that every student has the best opportunity to thrive through excellent attendance and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and manage daily attendance records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school policies and statutory requirements.
2. Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to address attendance concerns and reduce unauthorised absences.
3. Conduct regular attendance reviews, analyse data trends, and report findings to senior leadership.
4. Implement strategies to promote good attendance and support students at risk of poor attendance.
5. Liaise with form tutors and pastoral staff to ensure early identification of attendance issues.
6. Communicate regularly with families regarding attendance, ensuring a proactive and supportive approach.
7. Support the safeguarding of students by identifying patterns of absenteeism that may indicate welfare concerns.
About You:
1. Previous experience in a school administration role, ideally related to attendance management.
2. Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and external agencies.
5. Proficient in using school management information systems (SIMS or similar).
6. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
