Ref: 14960 Role: Account Director (metering/ data services) Location: Horley, Bristol or Blackpool (2 days a week in office) Salary: Competitive DOE bonus Summary: Our client, an established metering/data services and net-zero company, is looking for an Account Director to join their team and manage key supplier relationships. This senior role involves working with high-value, strategic accounts, ensuring supplier satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities. You will oversee the Supplier Account Management team, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships. To succeed, you’ll need at least 5 years of experience in metering/data services or with an energy supplier, experience managing supplier accounts and a proven track record of growing accounts and onboarding new clients - team management experience would be a plus If this sounds like you - apply today Key responsibilities: Manage two Strategic Account Managers on a daily basis. Serve as the main contact for key suppliers, building strong, long-term relationships. Engage regularly with suppliers to understand their needs, challenges, and goals. Develop and implement account strategies aligned with supplier objectives. Identify opportunities to expand work and maximize mutual value. Lead tailored plans for business growth through upselling and cross-selling. Oversee contract renewals, renegotiations, and service term discussions. Implement strategies to retain suppliers and resolve concerns. Provide accurate revenue forecasts and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through training. Perform other duties as needed to support business goals. Skills and experience required: At least 5 years’ experience in a metering/data services company or energy supplier. Experience managing energy supplier accounts or working with energy suppliers. Commercial/sales experience with a focus on upselling and cross-selling services. Team management experience is a plus but not essential. Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
