An exciting opportunity has arisen on the Critical Care Unit for a Ward Clerk to join our busy but friendly 15-bedded ward.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual who works well under pressure, is keen to learn, is a great team player, but is self-motivated and can work independently when needed.
You will need to be professional and understand the need for care, consideration, and respect for all. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for a variety of duties including:
1. Answering telephone calls
2. Recording patient admissions, transfers & discharges using electronic systems
3. Filing hard copy documentation
4. Managing Medical & Nursing notes
As a Ward Clerk, you are often the first point of contact for visiting families; these duties will require tact and diplomacy. Previous ward clerk experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
