As aFamily Engagement Manager at HMP Foston Hall, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the complex and varied needs of prisoners and their families. Your work will be crucial in fostering positive relationships between prisoners and their loved ones, providing essential advice, guidance, and learning opportunities. By developing robust referral pathways and managing a caseload of family support cases, you will ensure that each family receives personalised care and support. Additionally, you will advocate for the rights and needs of families, ensuring their voices are heard and respected within the prison system. This role requires a compassionate, dedicated individual committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by imprisonment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery:
2. Provide comprehensive services ensuring that prisoners, their children, carers, and other relatives receive appropriate advice, guidance, learning opportunities, care, and support to maintain or enhance positive relationships.
3. Referral Pathways Development:
4. Develop and implement effective referral pathways for families, prisoners, and other professionals to access family support services.
5. Establish connections with other relevant services to ensure seamless integration and support.
6. Family Support Work:
7. Manage a caseload of family support cases related to prisoners.
8. Conduct detailed assessments to inform and tailor support for the family unit, ensuring personalized and effective interventions.
9. Advocacy for Families:
10. Advocate for the rights and needs of families dealing with imprisonment.
11. Promote their human rights and ensure their voices are heard and considered at all levels of decision-making and service provision.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
12. Demonstrable ability to coordinate a broad range of services.
13. Experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging multi-agency environment, preferably involving offenders and/or their families.
14. Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage a demanding workload.
15. Ability to contribute to the planning and development of Pact’s family work.
16. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
17. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build partnerships with various agencies.
