Job summary Interview: 19th March 2025 This exciting opportunity is designed for doctors to develop experience in Emergency Medicine (EM) whilst pursuing projects and innovating change related to sustainability within the Emergency Department. Clinical experience afforded aligns to the objectives and curriculum of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Successful applicants will be working alongside the existing tier of EM Junior trainees and would spend 80% of their time working in the Emergency Department and 20% of their time completing projects and implementing change within the Emergency Department in line with RCEM Green ED Framework. Main duties of the job The Trust has Emergency Departments at both Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside Hospital with the department at Sunderland benefiting from 24/7 middle grade presence and 16 hours of ED consultant supervision, 7 days per week. There is a well-established programme for induction as well as Emergency Clinical Practitioner, Junior Doctor and Middle Grade teaching programmes. Each department has access to Point of Care Ultrasound machines as well as high fidelity simulation and training equipment. Clinical working time will be a combination of day, late and night shifts as well as weekend working. Applicants will need to have an interest in pursuing a career in an acute care specialty, have completed a minimum of 4 month experience in Emergency Medicine and hold a valid I/ALS. Salary will be dependent on skills and experience.
