Sports Coach – Alternative Provision School
Are you passionate about using sport to inspire and engage young people? Do you have the skills to build strong relationships and break down barriers to learning?
We are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach to support students in an alternative provision school, working with young people who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). The primary goal is to reengage students in education, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and key life skills through sport, with the ultimate aim of transitioning them back into mainstream school.
The Role:
* Use sport as a tool to engage and motivate students, making learning accessible and enjoyable.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with students, encouraging personal growth and self-belief.
* Develop and deliver inclusive sports sessions that cater to all abilities and interests.
* Support students both academically and socially, helping them build positive attitudes towards education.
* Work as part of a supportive team to create a safe and structured learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Background in sports coaching, PE teaching, or sports-related experience.
* Passionate about working with young people who face challenges in mainstream education.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills, able to connect with students on their level.
* Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable, with a positive approach to learning and development.
* Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision settings is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
