Total Care Recruitment is assisting in hiring a Mental Health and Wellbeing Worker for a service in Belfast. The successful candidate will provide mental health support and mentoring to children and young people aged 16-25. The Wellbeing Worker will assist young people experiencing low mood, suicidal ideation, and self-harm, helping them to build resilience, develop coping strategies, and strengthen their support networks. The service includes individualized support, regular reviews, and group work with volunteer mentors. Key Responsibilities: Provide mental health support to young people on a one-on-one and group basis. Develop and implement tailored support plans for each young person. Maintain up-to-date records including support and safety plans in compliance with GDPR. Collaborate with other agencies such as mental health services and social services to ensure holistic support for young people. Manage a waiting list of young people, prioritizing their needs and offering telephone support during wait times. Encourage social participation and help reduce isolation through group activities. Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are respected. Support volunteers, offering guidance, training, and mentorship. Person Specification: Essential Criteria: Experience: 1 year of experience working with children and young people (aged 16-25) who have mental health challenges, or A degree in Social Work, Youth and Community Work (or similar), plus at least 6 months of experience in a relevant role. Experience working with external agencies to support young people. Experience in delivering group work. Self-reflection and adaptability to feedback and development. Full driving license and access to a car insured for business use. NISCC Registration: You must be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) or be eligible for registration.
