Job Summary:
Support the SSP Group with reporting requirements and managing the transactional finance and payroll teams to deliver efficient, insightful and compliant output.
Job Description:
THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
1. Delivery of corporate reporting for the SSP including analysis, commentary and reporting packs in line with group reporting deadlines.
2. Management of transactional finance and payroll functions.
3. Liaising with entities across SSP and external advisors over a range of taxes including VAT, corporate tax, income tax and stamp duties including planning and projects and the Group transfer pricing policy.
4. Responsibility for managing cash and intercompany balances including reconciliations, group transfers, monitoring working capital and reporting to Group.
5. Support the development and standardisation of reporting processes and controls across the group SSP - Confidential.
6. Support the preparation and completion of financial statements and liaising with territories to support completion across SSP.
7. Support compliance and risk management across the group.
8. Support the Group and statutory audit of financial statements and tax positions, liaising with local advisors where required.
9. Undertake and manage ad-hoc projects.
10. Supporting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the team.
11. People management, performing 1-2-1s and annual reviews, involvement in objective setting.
12. Coaching, mentoring and developing employees.
13. Any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
Accountability:
1. Responsibility for generating all corporate reporting for SSP.
2. Managing the transactional team and payroll function.
3. Supporting statutory accounts preparation and audit across the SSP territories.
4. Liaising with tax authorities and advisors, including planning and compliance.
5. Developing reporting processes and controls.
6. Cash, intercompany and working capital management.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualified or tax qualification.
2. 5+ years post qualification experience.
3. Experience of working within a complex group finance function.
4. Proven track record of delivering accurate statutory accounts and accurate and timely management reporting.
5. Proven track record of delivering value add and compliant tax processes.
6. Experience of developing internal systems and controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
7. Good communications skills with the ability to work autonomously and across various teams.
8. Solutions led with ability to drive solutions to completion.
9. A people manager keen to develop team members.
