We are recruiting for High Intensity Therapists who are newly / recently qualified, or entering / returning to NHS practice, on behalf of several service providers within Cheshire and Merseyside (CWP, Everyturn Mental Health, Mental Health Matters, Mersey Care). As part of your application, you will be able to select the top two choices of who you would like to work with.
We will do our best to ensure that you are put forward for consideration by your first choice of service, but there may be occasions where this will not be possible.

Main duties of the job
The CBT High Intensity therapist role is highly valued and seen as an integral part of what we do. The role involves providing disorder specific assessments, formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This role will entail providing interventions to people with anxiety disorders and/or depression for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
You will work within the locality delivering step 3 Talking Therapies/NICE compliant psychological therapies face-to-face, digitally (online and via telephone), and in a range of community settings. Adapting what we offer to make our treatments more accessible is a critical characteristic of what we do.
You will receive regular clinical supervision and peer group support.

You should be BABCP accredited and have completed a recognised HIT training course.

Person Specification
QUALIFICATIONS
* Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Post Graduate Diploma course in CBT OR Post Graduate Diploma in CBT (competency based).
* Experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner in Primary care settings.
* A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or psychological therapy.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
* Demonstrate an understanding of anxiety trauma and depression and how they may present in Primary Care.
* Demonstrate a knowledge of the issues surrounding employment and the impact it can have on mental health.
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
* Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation.
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems.
EXPERIENCE
* Relevant experience in working in an IAPT service and/or within Primary Care Mental Health Teams.
* Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time to ensure the service capacity is utilised effectively.
* Experience of using the IAPT data set, problem specific psychometrics and service user feedback.
* Ability to act as a resource for other professional groups including providing some teaching in this respect.
* Experience of joint working with other public sector and/or 3rd sector services.
* Experience of providing clinical supervision.
