About the Role
Leeds City College is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant. This part-time, term-time role involves 18 hours per week over 39 weeks annually.
The SEND Provision at Leeds City College offers high-quality services for students aged 16-25 with diverse needs. The role involves supporting students to succeed, working mainly at one campus with potential to work across multiple sites within short travel distances.
What You Will Do
1. Assist in planning, preparation, and assessment within the curriculum.
2. Support students with high needs in and out of class.
3. Provide reports and feedback on students’ progress and strategies used.
4. Help with emergency evacuation procedures.
5. Attend reviews and meetings to update on student progress.
6. Support students’ travel and independence skills, including personal care and medical needs.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
About You
* Level 2 literacy and numeracy or commitment to achieve within a year.
* Experience supporting SEND or high needs students.
* Awareness of disability, equality, and diversity issues.
* Teamwork skills and adaptability.
* Flexibility to work across campuses and off-site visits.
