Deans Primary School is a large non-denominational school serving the community of Deans in Livingston. The school roll is currently 238 pupils arranged in 10 classes, with a 40:40 provision in our Early Learning and Childcare Setting. The Senior Leadership Team consist of a Head Teacher and Depute Head Teacher. The school is staffed by a skilled and motivated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, working together to support and challenge learners across the school. Our Early Learning and Childcare Setting is staffed by two Early Years Officers, 3 Early Years practitioners and a Pupil Support Worker. There is also an Administrative Assistant. The school works in partnership with Deans High School and cluster primary schools, the Parent Council and the wider parent forum to ensure the best outcomes for all children and families.
The role of Pupil Support Worker will be to work as part of the whole school team, demonstrating a good knowledge of child development. The successful candidate will develop positive nurturing relationships with children, provide high quality interactions throughout their practice and support the learning and emotional needs of pupils.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
