Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Logistics Manager on a full-time, permanent basis.
Main Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a highly organised and detail-orientated Logistics Manager to oversee and manage our logistics operations. This role involves coordinating the movement of post and goods, managing stock inventory, function setups and porterage team, ensuring that our logistics processes are efficient and cost-effective.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and optimise logistics strategies.
Create, implement and manage an inventory system.
Coordinate and monitor team operations.
Manage relationships with suppliers, including waste management companies.
Supervise and lead the porterage team.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
Develop and maintain logistics policies and procedures.
Address and resolve any issues related to logistics operations.
Manage the off-site logistics and maintenance hub.
Undertake the management of off-site staff accommodation, including ensuring statutory landlord compliance.
Person Specifications:
The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:
A Bachelor's degree in logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in logistics or supply chain management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Knowledge of logistics software and MS Office Suite.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week). Occasionally, there may be a need to work outside of regular working hours, including weekends, to support events such as Open Mornings, as required.
Remuneration:
A salary in the range of £40,000 - £45,000 will be offered depending on skills and experience.
Holidays:
23 days, plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
