Salary: NJC points 23 - 30, depending on experience- £39,150 FTE - £43,542 FTE. Actual salary for part-time and term-time-only working £13,690 - £15,226. Work on a self-employed basis considered.
Hours: Part-time, working 14 hours per week. Term time only + working 2 weeks spread across the school holidays. Governor meetings are held on Tuesdays.

We are looking for a highly organised, diligent and efficient candidate who can fulfil our Governance Professional role on either an employed or self-employed basis. The ideal candidate also needs to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and have the ability to deal with sensitive information with the utmost discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times. This role works closely with the Headteacher, Director of Finance and Administration and the Chair of Governors to ensure that meetings are convened, minutes and records of attendance at meetings are taken and kept, and notices issued and received in accordance with relevant regulations. The role includes management, filing and publication of policies (written by the School), managing information in accordance with legal requirements and ensuring the School’s compliance with statutory expectations of Governance. The Clerk provides effective administrative support to the Board of Governors and its committees, advising on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, duties and powers. The Clerk is accountable to the Board of Governors, ensuring that the Board is properly constituted. The Clerk would preferably work onsite Tuesday afternoons until after the governor meetings in the evening. The rest of the hours will be worked during the week. This will be agreed between the successful candidate, Headteacher and Chair of Governors.
